A wonderful indoor rainforest can be found at The Green Planet in Dubai. 3,000 kinds of exotic flora and fauna inhabit this rainforest, making it a haven for nature lovers. The immersive tropical forest consists of four levels – the canopy, the midstory, the forest floor and the flooded rainforest – and functions as a real ecosystem within the vertical glass bio-dome. Creating a thriving environment for the wildlife is an artificial 82-foot-tall tree at the heart of this mesmerizing forest, complete with an indoor waterfall.
This mesmerizing journey begins with a flooded rainforest that is an aquarium cavern with plants and animals from underwater tropical environments including arapaima, Arowanas, fishes, tortoises, and stingrays. A real oasis in the desert, Green Planet recreates an impressive ecosystem found in the South American Amazon rainforest. In addition to its elegant cylindrical shape, it is operated by the ZoOceanarium Group. It appears to be folded like an origami sheet on the exterior.
An authentic tropical rainforest surrounds Green Planet, which has been designed with minute details and features that make it appear as though you are in an actual rainforest. In addition to the massive artificial Kapok tree standing 25 meters tall, the facility also contains a number of other large trees throughout its grounds. An exotic plant, animal, and bird species are protected under the canopy of this tree, which is comprised of vines and figs. It is the largest of its kind in the world. Besides adding to the appeal, the tree is also adorned with a spectacular waterfall that provides a refreshing mist in the air.
